YALTA Dance Studio is one of Gibraltar's best-known performance-focused dance groups, based at Jumper's Bastion under director Yalta Pons. Public anniversary coverage traces the wider YDS story back to 1995 and describes the studio as a long-running part of Gibraltar's dance and performing-arts scene rather than a newer drop-in school.
One of the clearest things in the public profile is that YDS does not follow an exam-syllabus model. Instead, the school describes itself as a group that trains to be performers, with work that has included theatre shows, community events, workshops, overseas trips, and regular appearances in Gibraltar and Spain.
Recent coverage backs up that active performance calendar. YDS has been reported competing in Marbella, qualifying dancers for the Dance World Cup Finals in Prague, and taking part in major local events through the year.
