Quiet Nights at La Línea's Feria This Year (Starting Tonight)

La Línea's Feria has three quiet nights this July, with reduced fairground noise for children who find the usual feria soundtrack too much.

La Línea's Feria runs from 17 to 26 July this year at the Recinto Ferial in La Atunara, and once again it comes with three official quiet nights built into the programme.

The dates:

  • Today, Monday 20 July
  • Thursday 23 July
  • Saturday 25 July

On each of these, the rides run without music or the usual fairground noise from 19:00 to midnight.

The council runs this each year with TEA Esperanza Azul, the local autism association. Rides taking part in the scheme are marked with signage, and children covered by the scheme can get priority access on those rides too, so no standing in a queue in the Campo heat during those windows.

Even if this is not your family's situation, any child who finds fairground noise a lot gets an easier few hours Monday (tonight), Thursday, and Saturday, diagnosis or not.

If you're going today

The official feria programme lists Monday 20 July as a "Día sin ruido" from 19:00 to 00:00, with the attractions working without music. It is also the city's anniversary day, so expect things to feel busy. There is also a children's party in the Caseta Municipal early evening; listings differ between 18:00 and 19:00, so check before setting off.

One more useful thing for sensitive kids

The town hall has also said this year's feria would include other inclusion measures agreed with TEA Esperanza Azul, and the fair's closing fireworks on Sunday 26 July will remove the initial and final loud tracas. That does not make fireworks silent, obviously, but it may make them slightly less brutal for children who are especially sound-sensitive.
